Design Workflows for Novel Additively Fabricated Building Elements

See the first results of our Workshops “Design Workflows for Novel Additively Fabricated Building Elements”. The workshop focused on the digital modeling of building elements, encased in volumetric envelope that has been extracted from the structural form-finding process of topology optimization. The boundary conditions that frame the scale and resolution of the so created element are calibrated in relation to large scale additive fabrication technology. The workflow examined is approximated in a digital chain to the manufacturing constraints of this specific additive fabrication process. Many thanks to Daniel Büning and the students of the msa!
